Silverstone has today announced that legendary British DJ, producer, and broadcaster Pete Tong will make history by becoming the first DJ to play on the grid at Silverstone when he performs at the 2024 British Grand Prix.

The unique set will take place on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, prior to the race. He will also perform on the main stage on Saturday as part of a star-studded music line-up for 2024, including Stormzy and Kings of Leon.

With an incredible 30+ year career, Pete Tong MBE is an arena-selling artist whose Ibiza Classics has firmly cemented itself as part of the live music calendar. Speaking on his unique inclusion at the 2024 British Grand Prix, Pete said: “It’s incredible to be bringing the Ibiza Classics to Silverstone and such an honour to be playing on the grid before the race starts at the British Grand Prix. I’m a huge fan of Formula One. I’ll be supporting Red Bull and cheering for Max – he’s the trailblazer of the circuit and awesome to watch! I look forward to making history on July 7th.”

Having attracted record crowds of 480,000 people in 2023, the home of British motorsport is set to go bigger and better this year when it hosts an eclectic mix of heavyweight music. The unprecedented four-day festival line-up (Thursday, July 4th – Sunday, July 7th, 2024) will see Silverstone take its new-look music and arts offering to the next level, cementing the British Grand Prix as a summer highlight on both the British sporting and music calendar.

Nashville rockers Kings Of Leon will headline on Thursday before generational icon Stormzy follows on Friday. Fans can expect summer grooves on Saturday when Pete Tong presents Ibiza Classics with Jules Buckley and The Essential Orchestra before Rudimental close the weekend with a stomping live set on Sunday. The Snuts (Thursday), Self Esteem (Thursday), Jordss (Friday), Ghetts (Friday), Arielle Free (Saturday) and Anna De Ferran (Sunday) make up the rest of the star-studded music line-up.

Also new this year is a reconfigured music arena layout with an increased capacity of 60,000, enhanced viewing and a bigger stage. A comedy stage will be held in Village Enclosure on Friday and Saturday night with Russell Kane, Troy Hawke, and Al Murray confirmed to perform. A 10,000 capacity Big Top stage will also feature high energy, fun-filled, immersive family entertainment and there is a new fan zone layout to incorporate a 2,000 capacity sports bar in partnership with Heineken, which is set to show England and selective Euros matches.

Silverstone’s Commercial Director Nick Read said: “Our long-term ambition has always been to attract the biggest and best artists in the world to Silverstone to put on a spectacular show for the British fans. With Kings of Leon, Stormzy, Pete Tong and Rudimental on this year’s line-up, it’s fair to say the 2024 British Grand Prix is going to be bigger and better than ever before! We knew we had a massive job on our hands following the great success of last year’s music offering, so we are thrilled to be able to take things up another notch.”
